Tarta de fresas / Strawberry cake

Coincidimos con Paula en el curso de Estilismo fotográfico de Silvia Palma, de la escuela de Jackie Rueda. Así que cuándo vi las fotos de Paula en Instagram, en concreto una en la que hacía una estupenda propuesta para el reciclado de las cajas de fresas, me dije esta es la mía... ¿qué habrá hecho con las fresas?

We met Paula in a photography course on style by Silvia Palma, in Jackie's Rueda school. When I saw Paula's photos on Instagram, especially one about recycling strawberry wooden boxes, I thought: what would she have done with the strawberries? 

Cómo no podía ser de otra forma ... una fabulosa receta. Bueno para ser concretos, ¡un montón! De hecho, Paula tiene varias recetas con fresas en su blog. Después de verlas todas decidimos que os presentaríamos ésta maravillosa Tarta de fresas.

Of course, she made a fabulous recipe. Well honestly, tons of recipes! Paula shared a lot of these recipes with strawberries on her blog. We had a look at every single one of them and decided to share the one for strawberry cake with you.

Ingredients:
300g flour
150g butter cut in cubes
150g sugar
1 egg
1 soup spoon of water
a little bit of salt
icing sugar
300g fresh strawberries cut in little cubes
50g strawberry's jam

Preparation:
First we make the dough. Create the shape of a volcano with the flour and put the sugar, egg, water, salt and butter in it. Add the flour slowly and mix everything to make the dough. Let it rest for ten minutes and preheat the oven at 200ºC.

Roll out the dough to get it thin. Cut it in two parts: one for the base and the other for the top.

Spread some butter throughout the mold and put the dough into it, also on the sides. Put a thin layer of strawberry jam, cover it with the fresh strawberries and cover this layer with the other layer of the dough. Cut the rest of the dough.

Bake it  for 30 minutes until it is golden brown. Sprinkle the cake with icing sugar and serve it warm.
